1900’s German Violin labelled … Joh. Bap Schweitzer…1813
This is an exceptionally well made violin, labelled as a violin made by Johann Baptista Schweitzer. But I believe this to be a violin that was made in Germany in the very later 1890’s. It is a large fullsize violin and in very good condition; having only one minor repair to the front. It has a narrow grained spruce front and a deeply flamed wide curled maple back, which boasts a gorgeous golden-yellow oil varnish.
