Niam Chauhan started as one of the youngest violin dealers in the world.
Niam has gained an extensive client base, having worked with orchestral leaders, soloists, professional players, conservatory professors, students, and collectors from all over the world.
He is a freelance luthier specialising in the setup & sound of instruments, and dedicates a lot of his time to research– be it reading or handling fine instruments.
He realised his passion for old violins and lutherie at the age of 13- this is when he established his business, NC Violins.
From this, he started to work with and learn from various dealers to develop a foundation in identfication, and with luthiers also.
Niam is a graduate from the internationally recognised Newark School of Violin Making with a first-class honours degree, and afterwards has continually worked with other professionals to further standards in work.
Often working with players from other countries, including Spain, Italy, and Hong Kong, Niam in particular is also invited to Malta as a guest luthier, where he serves both professional and student players of the musical community.
