Alfred Knoll Viola Bow, Germany, c.1950-70

This is a lighter-weight viola bow made by the Alfred Knoll workshop in Germany c.1950-70. It’s a higher quality example mounted in silver, with a length of 743mm and weight of 66.9g. It is stamped *ALFRED KNOLL* and GERMANY on the handle.

The Alfred Knoll workshop was founded in 1932, spanning three generations and is still family-run today with Gerald Knoll as the current head. Historically they have always produced bows of various grades for both professional and student players.
