Carl Albert Nürnberger Violin Bow c.1930
A violin bow by Carl Albert Nürnberger (1885-1971). This bow is octagonal and silver-mounted with a length of 743mm and weight of 61.4g. The handle bears the typical family stamp *ALBERT NURNBERGER*
Carl Albert is one of the more individually renowned makers of the Nürnberger family, who are one of Germany’s finest bowmaking families. He’s the grandson of Franz Albert Sr, and a few of the stylistic features in this bow which help to define his own work include the large eyes with silver bands, and the button with clear double-cut collars and large bevels to the end of it. This bow also features luminous but dark golden-red pernambuco, and is done justice to with consistently neat and controlled work. The photo showing the nose’s centerline demonstrates this well!
The bow is in excellent condition
