Violin Bow by Christophe Landon, Paris – Copy of Dominique Peccatte

This is a very fine and interesting modern French violin bow by Christophe Landon, a close copy of the classic master Dominique Peccatte. Mounted in silver, with a length of 743mm and a weight of 65.7g.

Christophe Landon is a world-renowned dealer, violinmaker, bowmaker, and restorer. He has worked in esteemed workshops across the world, including with Max Moller of Amsterdam, Stephane Thomachot of Paris, and Rene Morel and Jacques Francais of New York before opening his workshop here in 1986.

Christophe has handled a multitude of the finest instruments and bows in existence. Along with the restoration of these, this has strongly informed his own making with great results.

This strong stick draws a deep tone from well within the instrument. The bow is in overall good presentation. There is a minor repair to the frog’s audience side, and besides this there is general surface wear to the bow, commensurate of use.
