A violin bow by Victor Fetique, Paris

A fine French violin bow made from flamed pernambuco and mounted in silver. Stamped “Vtor FETIQUE A PARIS”. This bow has a certificate by J.F. Raffin.

Victor Fetique (b.1875 Mirecourt, d.1951 Paris) is considered one of the great makers of classical French bowmaking. First apprenticed to C.C. Husson, and then C.N. Bazin, he moved to Paris in 1901 to work for Caressa & Francais. He established himself independently in 1913, and was later assisted by many well-known names such as A. Richaume and L. Morizot.
