Paolo Fiorini Violin, Markneukirchen, 1927 – Made for Beare & Son
This is a particularly lovely example of the Paolo Fiorini violins made in Germany for Beare & Son in London. The violin’s length of back is 362mm, and is labelled “Paolo Fiorini, Taurini, Faciebat anno 1927”.
I’ve sold another example before, and I’ve generally found that these violins are extremely consistent in their quality of making and the type of distinctive figured maple used.
This violin is suitable for both soloistic and orchestral use – The tone has a great amount of warmth to it, and the response is well balanced across all strings to allow both blended and focused playing when desired.
I’ve really enjoyed preparing this violin for sale, and this includes setup work such as new pegs fitted, a fresh fingerboard surface, a new nut, and professional bridge/post cutting. The fingerboard’s quality of ebony is exceptional
Paolo Fiorini violins seem to retail in the UK for £6,000-7,000. This violin is in excellent condition and presentation. There are a few of the smallest repairs to the front, and the rest is perfect.
