Viola bow, England, later 1900s
A nice English viola bow made in the later 1900s. It’s been shown to an English bowmaking colleague – while currently anonymous, it has the opportunity to have a name put to it in the future, with an increase in value. Silver mounted, with a length of 751mm and a weight of 69.1mm.
Attractive pernambuco choice. I quite like features such as the frog’s ebony work and the silver adjuster- both strong in appearance. This bow draws a deep tone and is supportive of even the most intricate techniques; I’ve loved trying this bow out!
The bow is in fantastic condition.
